Collabro are a UK-based musical theatre group and winners of the eighth series of Britain's Got Talent in 2014. The group consists of Michael Auger, Jamie Lambert, Matthew Pagan and Thomas J. Redgrave. Their new 51-date tour; Road to the Royal Albert Hall has come to the beautiful Bridgewater Hall fully filled with "Collaborators" (Collabro Fans).
The concert started with Georgia & the Vintage Youth who was the support act for the evening. Going to the concert I wasn't expecting much of Georgia & the Vintage Youth as "it was just a support act" and I did judge them by their album covers and posters available in the foyer before the show which made me think that I won't enjoy their style of music, but I was surprised by how great they were!!! After their first song I was sat absolutely mesmerised by them as their energy and songs were amazing. As soon as I got home, I downloaded their album and I am actually listening to it as I am writing this and would recommend everyone to give them a listen as they're fabulous!!!
Soon after Georgia & the Vintage Youth finished the audience sat on the edge of their seats waiting for the main event of the night, Collabro. Collabro are a bunch of incredibly talented guys. Their vocals and harmonies were perfectly nailed and their interaction with the audience and the speaking in between the songs made the evening even more enjoyable. The song choices were great with songs from Les Mis, Miss Saigon, Evita and many more legendary musicals, and they had the audience on their feet and dancing away during their Jersey Boys medley.
The wonderful Kerry Ellis was a special guest on some dates of the tour and Manchester was luckily one of them. I must admit that I am a HUGE fan of Kerry Ellis and she definitely didn't disappoint me. Her vocals were mind-blowing, and she shined on the stage in her stunning dresses. Even though this was a concert, Ellis has put every bit of emotion into each song making it magnificent to watch and listen to her. Although Ellis only had 2 solo numbers in the show the audience was on their feet applauding after every song, especially after her breath-taking take on This is Me.
