Manchester Jewish Museum presents its first ever Festival of Belonging from March 7-14th – featuring one off events and nights of comedy, theatre, storytelling, films and visual arts to examine how we assimilate in new places, explore what makes us feel that we belong and question what happens when we don’t.
Producers Jamie Wilson and Whoopi Goldberg are delighted to announce that Lesley Joseph will join the cast for the UK and Ireland tour of the smash-hit musical, “SISTER ACT”. The show will open on 21 April 2020 at Leicester Curve and will visit Leeds, Newcastle, Sheffield and Manchester's Opera House!
The UK and Ireland tour will re-open on 15 September at Birmingham Hippodrome and will finish its run in Milton Keynes on 5 December 2020.

Emma Rice's musical adaptation of Enid Blyton's Malory Towers to visit The Lowry as part of national tour
David Pugh, the Olivier and Tony Award-winning producer, is delighted to present Emma Rice’s critically acclaimed musical adaptation of Enid Blyton’s Malory Towers, originally created with Wise Children. This new production by Wise Children will be co-produced with Theatre by the Lake, Keswick, where the production will open on 27 March 2020, before going on a national tour which includes The Lowry from Tue 21 - Sat 25 April 2020.

Following a hugely successful and busy 2019 programme, which included productions of Footloose, Shrek and Oliver!, Manchester Musical Youth return to the stage to kick off 2020 with the timeless classic ‘Calamity Jane’. This musical western based on the 1953 Warner Bros film starring Doris Day and Howard Keel features the iconic hit songs “Windy City”, Secret Love” and “The Deadwood Stage”. The production will be performed by their cast of 52 incredible young performers, representing all corners of Greater Manchester.
New Adventures is delighted to announce the 2020 tour dates for Matthew Bourne’s Nutcracker! with extensive national and international tour dates for 2021 to be announced shortly. The Walt Disney Company UK today announced that Nick Afoa will be joining the touring production of THE LION KING which arrives at Manchester’s Palace Theatre from 22 October 2020. Afoa is currently starring in the role in London’s West End, where he has performed as Simba for three years after making his stage debut in the Australian production of THE LION KING in 2013.

International award-winning photographer Mandy Barker brings a major touring retrospective Our Plastic Ocean to Waterside in Sale, Trafford from 10 January 2020. Barker collects debris from shorelines across the world and transforms them into powerful and captivating images. At first glance, Barker’s images are reminiscent of sea creatures and corals suspended in a dark void beneath the sea, but closer inspection reveals a more disturbing reality.
