The show opens in style with the duo singing 'The Greatest Show" from the hit movie 'The Greatest Showman' and it honestly was the greatest opening with an amazing orchestra, lovely backing vocals and very fancy lighting design. We then moved on to some pop songs with Aretha Franklin and George Michael’s "I Knew You Were Waiting (For Me)" which was wonderful to listen to and then onto "You'll Be Back" from the hit show 'Hamilton' which once again was absolutely wonderful. We then once again went back to a few pop songs and musical classics from incredible musicals like 'Fiddler on the Roof'
Most recently, Ball and Boe starred in the All-Star staged concert production of Les Miserables so of course some Les Mis had to be included in the concert. Ball was just 23 years old when he originated the role of Marius however tonight he beautifully performed 'Stars' after playing Javert in the recent concert version. Boe has played Jean Valjean in many different productions so his performance of 'Bring Him Home' was expected to bring the house down and it totally did as I looked around and people were getting their tissues out as little tears were coming down their faces. We then heard the most well-known musical theatre song ever written; One Day More which once again brought the house down with the excepcional arrangement.
We then moved on from very emotional Les Mis section onto a Disney hit; The Lion King as the duo performed Circle of Life and He Lives in You. To finish the tonight's concert off, the duo performed an incredible arrangement of a Queen Medley as well as Frank Sinatra's 'My Way'. But just when the audience thought the concert finished, the duo jive their way back onto the stage to perform "Grease" medley!
Tonight's concert wasn't heavily relying on the set list and their stunning voices as both; Ball and Boe entertained and amused the audience with their little one liners or their hilarious stories but at the same time they also related to current topics such as Brexit making sure that there is something in-store for every audience member.
